Health Need: Substance Use & Abuse

Throughout the United States, hospitals and health care workers are on the front lines of an opioid epidemic that’s ravaging communities, families, and individuals. Today, drug overdose deaths are the leading cause of death among young adults (ages 18–34) in the southeastern PA region.
